Jamie Dornan, Alec Baldwin, and Christian Slater will all star in the true story TV series “Dr. Death” from Universal Content Productions and based on the Wondery podcast of the same name. The project is currently being shopped around to networks and streaming services.
Dornan plays Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a rising star in the Dallas medical community who was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice. But patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries were left permanently maimed or dead. As victims piled up, two fellow surgeons and a young Assistant District Attorney set out to stop him.
Baldwin will play quiet and methodical neurosurgeon Robert Henderson who believes anything worth doing shouldn’t be rushed and should be gotten right. Slater will play vascular surgeon Randall Kirby, who is brash, impulsive and more than willing to burn that system to the ground in the name of justice.
Patrick McManus, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Hernan Lopez and Marshall Lewy will executive produce. This marks the third UCP-Wondery podcast-turned-TV series following Bravo’s “Dirty John” and Amazon’s “Homecoming”.
