The big screen adaptation Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray” for Ealing Studios has just announced a stellar cast line-up says Variety.
Joining the already announced Ben Barnes and Colin Firth are Rebecca Hall, Ben Chaplin, Emilia Fox, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Fiona Shaw, Maryam D’Abo, Pip Torrens, Douglas Henshall, Caroline Goodall, Michael Culkin, Johnny Harris and newcomer Max Irons, son of Jeremy Irons.
Based on “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” the story centers on Gray, a young man who becomes the subject of a painting. As the man descends into a hedonistic lifestyle, the portrait begins to age and morph, but he doesn’t.
The Oliver Parker-directed film begins production shortly in the UK.
