Dorff, Fanning Join Coppola’s “Somewhere”

Sofia Coppola (“Lost in Translation,” “Marie Antoinette”) has setup the dramedy “Somewhere” at Focus Features as her new project says Variety.

Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning star in the story which centers on a bad-boy actor stumbling through a life of excess at the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood.

With an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter, he is forced to reexamine his life.

Coppola penned the script and has received permission to shoot at the hotel. Shooting kicks off this June in Los Angeles and Italy.

Coppola is producing with brother Roman Coppola (“The Darjeeling Limited”) and G. Mac Brown (“Australia”)

Pathe will have rights to the film in France, Benelux and Switzerland; and Tohokushinsa is taking Japan and select Asian territories. Medusa Film will have rights to “Somewhere” in Italy, while Focus will control rights in all other territories.
