Doremus To Direct A “Russian Spy” Tale

Drake Doremus (“Equals,” “Like Crazy”) has been hired to direct fact based thriller “The Tracking Of A Russian Spy” for Studiocanal and The Picture Company.

Based on the novella by journalist Mitch Swenson and adapted by Charles Cumming, the story centers on a secret romance Swenson had with Katya, a young and mysterious Russian woman he met in a New York nightclub.

She disappeared after the arrest in 2010 of 10 Russian Americans charged with spying for the Kremlin. He then traveled to Moscow to uncover who she really was, uncovering shadow government operations deep within Russia.

Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman are producing the film which is said to be in the vein of “Three Days of the Condor”. Shooting aims to begin this Fall.
