Doomsday Set For “Batman v Superman”

While we know Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will serve as the villain in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” a new report from El Mayimbe over on the Shanlian on Batman podcast has apparently confirmed rumors that Doomsday is set to appear as well.

From the sounds of it, Doomsday will serve essentially as the muscle to Luthor’s more cerebral villain – effectively the Darth Vader to Luthor’s Grand Moff Tarkin from the original “Star Wars”. The design is said to be quite faithful to the comic and looks “incredible”.

Reports from earlier this year suggested that Doomsday’s creation ties back to the corpse of General Zod (Michael Shannon) which will be a key point in the script. El Mayimbe also says that the trailer line of “Do you bleed? You Will” comes from a dream sequence within the film, though it’s not clear who is having said dream.

Speaking of the DC Cinematic Universe, some new “Suicide Squad” set videos have gone online showing Will Smith’s Deadshot and Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag leading an armed team into a building. Shooting on the DC comics adaptation is continuing in Toronto with Jared Leto expected to shoot some Joker scenes this week.
