Microsoft and 343 Industries received major backlash over both the glitches with “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” and the villain twist and lack of Master Chief in “Halo 5: Guardians” at the time of their releases.
The outcry is strong enough they’ve seemingly gone back to the drawing board to some extent and have remained radio silent on anything about the sixth game in the official series.
Jeff ‘Grimbrother One’ Easterling has informed the Halo community over on the Halo Waypoint website that there will be no new info released regarding the next sequel, remakes or remasters at pretty much any other gaming convention this year:
“…others were hoping for a tease of things farther off to come. While there’s little to nothing that can be said on that front, it’s been made clear that we won’t be talking about Halo’s next major title for quite some time. And no, that doesn’t mean Gamescom. Or PAX. Trust us, when we’re ready to begin pulling back that proverbial curtain, you’ll know. It won’t be soon.”
“Halo 5: Guardians” was released October 2015. Were it to stick to schedule, a sixth should be due late next year but with so much radio silence – it’s more likely to be a 2019 launch at the earliest now.
