Donald Glover is in talks to join the cast of Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Homecoming” at Sony Pictures. Details of Glover’s character are being kept secret.
Glover’s name has been linked to the franchise before, the “Community” star and rapper was previously the subject of fan campaigns to get him in the role of Spider-Man back in 2012 – a role that ultimately went to Andrew Garfield at that time.
Glover was able to partly fulfill his dream though by voicing mixed race Spider-Man Miles Morales in Disney XD’s animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man”.
In this film, Tom Holland is taking on the Peter Parker/Spider-Man role in a story that takes the character back to his high-school roots. Production is slated to begin in June.
Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Tony Revolori and Laura Harrier also star in the Jon Watts-directed project which Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige wil produce.
