Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michael Beach Nichols (“Welcome To Leith”) helms the new Magnet Releasing documentary “Wrinkles The Clown” which deals with a creepy clown who went viral from a YouTube video a few years ago.
In said video, the clown emerges from under a sleeping child’s bed and it was said parents had hired him to scare their misbehaving child. Quickly after that, more videos of Wrinkles’ child-scaring escapades took place.
The Washington Post interviewed the man, a military veteran, who didn’t want to be another ‘boring Florida retiree’ and instead went into a unique form clowning which grew a cult online. The documentary premieres at Fantastic Fest ahead of a day-and-date October 4th release.
