Divergent Sequel “Insurgent” To Be In 3D

Lionsgate has confirmed they will release “Insurgent,” the second installment its “Divergent” franchise, in both 2D and 3D. This marks a change from the first film which was a 2D only release and grossed nearly $300 million worldwide.

“Insurgent” is set for a March 20th global release and the first bout of marketing has begun with eight interactive 3D character posters for the film being unveiled every hour this morning through the film’s official Facebook page.

In the sequel, Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’ family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them.

Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past.
