“Divergent” Author’s “Inertia” Gets Adapted

Fox 2000 has optioned the rights to “Divergent” author Veronica Roth’s latest short story “Inertia”.

The love story takes place in the near future where technology allows for ‘last visitations’ – a process in which a person can be connected to the consciousness of another nearing death.

When Claire’s estranged best friend Matt is left in critical condition after a terrible car accident, she unexpectedly learns he’s requested their two minds be connected before he passes. Together they revisit their shared past, reliving the highs and lows of their relationship.

Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen and Pouya Shahbazian will produce.
