Disney To Reboot “The Muppets” Again

Despite the failure of ABC’s short-lived adult-focused “The Muppets” series, not to mention the 2014 film “Muppets Most Wanted,” Disney is apparently still very much interested in exploiting the Jim Henson Muppet franchise and are set to reboot the property again.

THR reports that “The Muppets” is one of several reboots and remakes planned for the Disney-owned streaming service set to debut in 2019. A search is now underway for a writer for the series.

The project joins at least one new Marvel series and a “Star Wars” live-action show which are in the works for the service along with reboots of properties like “High School Musical,” “The Mighty Ducks,” “Monsters Inc.” and more.
