It has been confirmed that Gazillion Entertainment’s “Marvel Heroes” video game is being cancelled.
The “Diablo”-esque title was first released for PC in 2013 as a free-to-play title and ported to both Xbox One and PS4 earlier this year. Now, in a statement to Kotaku, a Marvel representative confirmed the game’s shut down:
“We regret to inform our Marvel Heroes fans that we have ended our relationship with Gazillion Entertainment, and that the Marvel Heroes games will be shut down. We would like to sincerely thank the players who joined the Marvel Heroes community, and will provide any further updates as they become available.”
Though the game was designed to be free-to-play, players spent real money to purchase characters and costumes for them.
