Disney Pondering A Peter Pan Prequel

At Disney’s annual shareholders meeting yesterday in Salt Lake City, Bob Iger revealed that the studio is considering a film adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling children’s novel “Peter and the Starcatchers” reports The Wrap.

A prequel to J.M. Barrie’s “Peter Pan”, the adventure tale follows an orphan boy named Peter and his mysterious new friend Molly as they overcome bands of pirates and thieves in their quest to keep a fantastical secret safe.

Iger says “We considered making [it] a movie” and have hired a scribe to adapt it, but “We haven’t made a decision on that yet.” The company has also been testing the material on the stage at the La Jolla Playhouse and as an Off Broadway production at the New York Theater Workshop.
