Disney+ Plans ‘Torch Passing’ “Hawkeye” Series

Disney Plans Torch Passing Hawkeye Series

You can add one more Avenger to the Disney+ streaming service line-up of shows based on characters within the Marvel universe.

Variety reports that the company is officially developing a limited series based on Jeremy Renner’s skilled archer character Hawkeye (aka. Clint Barton) with Renner himself attached to star.

The project is said to be an adventure series in which Barton passes the torch to Kate Bishop, the character who has taken up the mantle after Barton in the comics.

Disney, Marvel and Renner’s reps declined to comment. The project joins the other Disney+ limited series in the works focusing on MCU characters including one about Loki, one about Falcon and Winter Soldier, and one about Vision and Scarlet Witch.

All the series are expected to be six to eight-episode limited runs and will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige.
