Disney Planning A Matterhorn Movie

Disney Pictures is developing an adventure movie with the working title of “The Hill” reports Heat Vision.

Inspired by the Disneyland Matterhorn ride, the story will center on five young adventure seekers who, for mysterious reasons, are called to the top of the mountain and encounter a Yetis on the journey down.

Opened June 1959, the elaborate ride was inspired by Walt Disney’s desire for a toboggan-themed roller coaster. Refurbished in 1978, three animatronic Abominable Snowmen were added and growl at riders along the way.

Jason Dean Hall will pen the script and Justin Springer (“Tron Legacy,” “Prom”) will produce.
