Original “Star Wars” creator George Lucas has continued doing press rounds for the CG animated fantasy film “Strange Magic”. Talk of J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has come up, and Lucas tells Cinema Blend that it sounds like Abrams has pretty much discarded what work Lucas had already done on the film:
“The ones [ideas] that I sold to Disney, they came to the decision that they didn’t really want to do those. So they made up their own. So it’s not the ones that I originally wrote [on screen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens].”
Lucas previously admitted in interviews last week that he “has no idea what they’re doing” with the film, but is happy about that as he’ll finally get to see this franchise as the rest of us do – as an audience member.
In related news, “The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death” actress Leanne Best has joined the cast of the already shot “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Best, who played the titular woman in the horror sequel, will take on an unspecified role.
