Disney Pictures has dropped Joseph Kosinski’s “Horizons”, the sci-fi feature formerly titled “Oblivion” which the “Tron: Legacy” director was developing with them reports Heat Vision.
The studio has allowed the director to shop it to other studios and financiers with the likes of Warners, Fox, Universal and Paramount among the companies now considering the project with Kosinski making presentations to them this week.
The film’s story centers on a soldier assigned to patrol a desolate planet who meets a mysterious traveler. William Monahan and Karl Gadjusek penned the script.
The studio was said to be uncomfortable with making a PG-13 action film while Kosinski was reportedly keen on making a project with edge.
