The “Star Wars” title and date announcement wasn’t the only big reveal at the Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholders meeting this morning in San Francisco.
Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios CCO John Lasseter, along with Disney CEO Bob Iger were on hand to announce official plans to produce a sequel to the 2013 megahit animated feature “Frozen”.
No further details or timeline about when the project will go into full production were revealed. Similarly no release date has been mentioned at this time.
The first film generated nearly $1.3 billion at the box office and has become a merchandising juggernaut across the company. An animated short follow-up, “Frozen Fever,” hits cinemas with “Cinderella” this weekend.
