DiCaprio Plays Atari, Pong Creator

Paramount Pictures has picked up Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman’s biopic pitch “Atari” for Leonardo DiCaprio to produce and star in though his Appian Way company says Variety.

The story follows entrepreneur Nolan Bushnell, one of the founding fathers of the video game industry.

Bushnell co-founded Atari in 1972 with Ted Dabney, and was instrumental in bringing arcade games, home vidgame consoles and home computers to the masses.

More specifically he was known for creating the video game Pong, the Atari 2600, and the Chuck E. Cheese Pizza Time Theatre franchise.

DiCaprio is shooting Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island” for the studio.
