Jonathan Aris, Sacha Dhawan, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Youssef Kerkour, Clive Russell, Mark Gatiss and Catherine Schell are set to join Claes Bang in the title role of the upcoming three-part “Dracula” event series for BBC and Netflix.
Hailing from the creators of “Sherlock,” the producers claim to be reinventing Bram Stoker’s classic story for a 21st-century audience. Jonny Campbell (“Westworld”), Damon Thomas (‘Killing Eve”) and Paul McGuigan (“Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool”) helm episodes of the series.
Production is now underway with shooting taking place in Slovakia and the UK at Bray Studios where many Hammer horror films were shot.
Hartswood Films will bow the series on BBC One in the U.K. and Ireland and then play on Netflix in the U.S. and internationally. Gatiss and Steven Moffat are penning the series to launch late 2019 or early 2020.
