Details On The “Point Break” Remake

Out doing promotions for “Transcendence,” producers Broderick Johnson and Andrew A. Kosove also gave a quick update to Collider on the planned remake/re-imagining of the 1991 action-crime thriller classic “Point Break”.

Second unit photography is well underway and the production has used real athletes rather than stunt people because “the stunts are way too dangerous for people who are stunt people”. Shooting is taking place in ten countries across the globe, though principal photography doesn’t begin until June.

The script is very different from the original, according to Johnson the only thing being carried over is “the nature of the character dynamic between Utah and Bodhi and their relationship… The narrative of the movie is different. While we do have surfing in the film, it is only a subset of the extreme sports that we deal with, including free-climbing, motocross, wing-suiting and so forth.”

The film will be converted in 3D, not shot in 3D due to the cameras being utilised having to be on the small side.
