Following on from the first official poster of Jason Momoa as Aquaman in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” the other night, new details have emerged about both the character’s look and the extent of his involvement in the film.
Badass Digest reports that Momoa’s appearance in the movie is little more than a glorified cameo, a character who appears only two times – during a survey of metahumans conducted by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and at the end when Batman recruits him to join the Justice League.
This would indicate the character’s back story and details won’t even begin to be fleshed out until the standalone Aquaman movie. This has also led to confusion over the “Unite the Seven” tagline on the poster.
Meanwhile, costume designer Michael Wilkinson has spoken briefly about his work on the character to TooFab, and in the process remained incredibly vague:
“It has been a thrill and an honor to bring this iconic character to life for a modern audience. Zack Snyder has a brilliant vision for making this character powerful and relevant. I enjoyed designing a costume that reflects this vision and honors the character’s rich legacy.”
