Johnny Depp will develop and produce the feature “Waiting for the Barbarians,” the first effort of a new partnership between his Infinitum Nihil production banner and producer Andrea Iervolino via his recently launched social entertainment platform TaTaTu.
An adaptation of J.M. Coetzee’s novel, Depp, Mark Rylance and Robert Pattinson star in the story which deals with the crisis of conscience of a magistrate from a small colonial town after he witnesses the cruel treatment of prisoners of war.
Ciro Guerra helms the film which begins filming later this month in Morocco. Monika Bacardi, Michael Fitzgerald and Olga Segura will also produce with Ambi Media Group fully financing the project.
