Denzel Washington is negotiating to star in the Tony Scott-directed drama “Unstoppable” for 20th Century Fox reports Variety.
Mark Bomback’s script, loosely inspired by a true event, has Washington playing an experienced engineer who jumps in a locomotive with a young conductor to chase down a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals.
The project would mark the fifth time Washington and Scott have worked together. They also teamed on “Crimson Tide,” “Man on Fire,” “Deja Vu” and the upcoming train-based thriller remake “The Taking of Pelham 123”.
Filming kicks off this Fall. Scott and Julie Yorn are producing.
