Rebecca De Mornay (“The Hand That Rocks the Cradle,” “Risky Business”) will headline the remake of the Troma cult 1980’s horror film “Mother’s Day” says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows a family of villains, led by a sadistic mother (De Mornay), who return to their former home and terrorize the new owners and their guests. Hunks Matt O’Leary (“Brick”) and Patrick Flueger (TV’s “The 4400”) are set to play the sons of the mother.
Jamie King, Shawn Ashmore, Tony Nappo, Alexa Vega, Lisa Marcos, Briana Evigan and Deborah Ann Woll also star.
Filming starts next week in Winnipeg with Darren Lynn Bousman directing from Scott Milam’s script.
The film is aiming for release sometime before Mother’s Day next May.
