Three arthouse director favourites have just setup their next projects.
First up, Julie Delpy is set to write, direct and star in “My Zoe” alongside Gemma Arterton, Daniel Bruhl and Lior Ashkenazi also featuring. Filming aims to begin next spring in the U.K.
Delpy will play a geneticist recovering from a disastrous marriage. Now raising her daughter by herself, she seeks the help of a couple in Moscow (Arterton and Bruhl) when tragedy strikes. Ashkenazi plays Delpy’s new boyfriend.
Next, German filmmaker Christian Petzold (“Phoenix,” “Barbara”) will direct an adaptation Anna Seghers’ classic novel “Transit”.
Set at the cusp of WWII after Germany invades France, the story follows a man who escapes a Nazi concentration camp and flees to Marseilles. He’s soon given an assignment that will bring him an deep understanding of the plight of refugees.
Finally, Benoit Jacquot has managed to score “Elle” star Isabelle Huppert to join the cast of his new psychological thriller “Eva”.
Based on James Hadley Chase’s novel revolves around a beautiful, yet lethal woman. Gaspard Ulliel co-stars.
