Deleted Monty Python Animation Surfaces

With “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” achieving its 40th anniversary this year, it’s no surprise that the comedy classic is getting a Blu-ray/DVD re-release. One thing different about the new edition though is that it contains several minutes worth of Terry Gilliam’s animation that has never seen before.

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, that animation has gone online and includes Gilliam narrating the piece – discussing about how he was upset over its rejection and even being confused himself regarding what he was trying to achieve with it.

Gilliam’s animation has always been famously weird, and here he also admits he work was inspired by illustrations done by monks in medieval manuscripts.
