With Guillermo del Toro’s “Crimson Peak” slated to open in two weeks, the filmmaker has begun doing press about the gothic, romantic supernatural thriller and has briefly touched upon his upcoming schedule.
First up, Del Toro confirms to Variety that his immediate next project is a “small, independently financed movie that he is keeping under tight wraps.”
The other week came word that the “Pacific Rim” sequel had been put on hold and was even rumored to be cancelled. Del Toro says he believes the film is still very much a go:
“As far as I’m concerned, it’s not cancelled, just postponed. Right now, we have to put a budget and screenplay together, present it to Universal and Legendary, and they will make a decision.”
