Del Toro Comes At “Midnight”, Talks “Madness”

Universal Pictures and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro are developing the action thriller “Midnight Delivery” reports Pajiba. Neil Cross (TV’s “Spooks,” “Luther”) has penned the script about a man who becomes a drug mule to save his son’s life.

The project marks yet another film on the list of the ever busy del Toro who is also slated to produce “The Hobbit,” “Crimson Peak,” “The Orphanage” remake, “The Haunted Mansion,” “Drood” and more.

del Toro is also busy with his beloved H.P. Lovecraft adaptation “At the Mountains of Madness” and revealed to MTV News that his “Hellboy” star Ron Perlman has a plum role ready and waiting for him should he be able to fit it into his schedule.

“All I can tell you is if Ron Perlman is free, he will be in. I wrote a part for him. He read it and if everything falls in place, Ron Perlman has a role in it written specifically for him” says del toro. “Ron plays Larson, the sort of dog guy, the guy that cares for the dogs and the sled – the part of the expedition that is dog sleds. It’s a fantastic character. I really love him. He’s sort of a pragmatic guy, doesn’t care about science or the mythology or the cosmology. He just is a hard-boiled Nordic man, and it is written specifically for him.”
