Debiciki, Vance Join HBO’s “Lovecraft Country”

Elizabeth Debicki, Courtney B. Vance and Aunjanue Ellis have all signed onto the original series “Lovecraft Country” currently in the works at HBO. The trio will play the roles of Christina Braithwhite, George Black and Hippolyta Black respectively.

The series is based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff that follows Atticus Black as he travels on a roadtrip across 1950s Jim Crow America with his friend Letitia and Uncle George in search of his parents. Along the way they encounter monsters like something straight out of an H.P. Lovecraft novel.

The trio join Jonathan Majors as Atticus Black, Jurnee-Smollett Bell as Letitia ‘Leti’ Dandridge, and Wunmi Mosaku as Ruby Dandridge. Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams serve as executive producers on the series which has yet to set a premiere date.
