Things still aren’t clear regarding how Tim Miller’s “Deadpool” film adaptation will fit into the larger “X-Men” screen universe, though one element within the film that’s definitely crossing over is the character of Colossus.
Played by Daniel Cudmore in the previous “X-Men” films, Andre Tricoteux now takes on the part for this film and tells Tech Times his part is more than just a simple cameo:
“I think you’re going to get to see more of who Colossus is. I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there’s still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus had been around in the comics since the ’70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him.”
Asked if he’ll have the character’s classic accent in the film, he offers:
“I can’t give too much away. We kept it very traditional to the comic book. Actually, we kept it exactly like the comic book, so you could be able to derive your own conclusion from that.”
“Deadpool,” starring Ryan Reynolds as the masked mercenary with a mouth, opens on February 12th next year.
