Deadpool Rated R For Nudity & Violence

The filmmakers behind the upcoming Ryan Reynolds-led “Deadpool” film at 20th Century Fox have had no hesitation in demonstrating that this isn’t another PG-13 rated superhero blockbuster – instead they were going for an R rating right off the bat.

Well their plan has come to fruition with Box-Office Mojo today reporting that the MPAA has officially given the film an R rating which it claims is due to “strong violence and language throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity.” It isn’t clear if director Tim Miller cut any scenes to avoid the dreaded NC-17 rating.

The news comes in the wake of a tweet earlier this week by “Deadpool” creator Robert Liefeld who suggests that “Mad Men” actor Jon Hamm would be perfect casting as Cable, the time traveling mutant with the bionic eye and arm who could pop up in either a “Deadpool” sequel or the “New Mutants” film in the works
