With Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” exceeding all expectations, are Warners and DC Comics planning a potential equivalent for their cinematic universe? Maybe so.
Latino Review reports that Warners is quietly sending around the DC comic book “Legion Of Superheroes” to screenwriting reps for their client’s potential pitches for the material.
Debuting in 1958, ‘The Legion Of Superheroes’ is a superhero team set in the 30th and 31st centuries that has gone through numerous reboots. The three founding members are Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl who have powers of magnetism, electricity and mind control respectively.
Essentially it’s a more sci-fi/futuristic ‘Justice League’, with other heroes coming and going over the years. One storyline saw the Legion travel back in time to 21st century Earth where they become stuck and can’t return to their time.
