Lolita Davidovich and James Frain have scored recurring roles in the upcoming second season of HBO’s “True Detective”.
The story revolves around three police officers (Colin Farrell confirmed, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams rumored) and a career criminal (Vince Vaughn) who finds himself trapped in a conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.
Davidovich will play Nancy Simpson, a former showgirl, alcoholic, chain smoking faded beauty who is the mother of Taylor Kitsch’s character. She focuses her last remaining dreams on her police detective son whom she sees as God’s gift to women.
Frain will play a ruthless police detective named Jeff Hunt. They join a cast that includes Kelly Reilly, Michael Irby, Abigail Spencer and Leven Rambin. Filming begins early next year.
