“Deadpool 2” and “Atomic Blonde” director David Leitch is in early talks to helm a remake of the Bruce Lee 1973 martial arts classic “Enter the Dragon” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
The original film follows a Shaolin martial artist pressed to enter a karate tournament on the island owned by the secretive Han who is suspected of using the gathering as a way to smuggle drugs around the world.
The martial artist has his own motivation: revenge for the suicide of his sister on said island. John Saxon, Kien Shih and martial artists Jim Kelly, Bob Wall and Bolo Yeung also starred. The film’s release was marked with tragedy as it came right after Lee’s death 45 years ago this past Friday.
A writer will soon be sought for the remake which has had the likes of Spike Lee and Brett Ratner attached years ago.
