David Green (“Earth to Echo”) is in talks to direct the sequel to this year’s live-action meets CG-animated “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film reboot at Paramount Pictures. Green would take over from Jonathan Liebesman who helmed the first film, which has grossed $478 million worldwide.
Paramount is moving fast on the sequel and wanted to take a new approach as well. As a result, Liebesman is out due to his commitments to the ten-part event series “Shannara” clashing with the accelerated production timeline of the ‘Turtles’ follow-up to get it into cinemas by 2016.
Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are returning as producers, while Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are penning the script. Megan Fox and Will Arnett are expected to reprise their roles from the first film.
