Dave Franco, James Franco’s brother whose been making a name for himself online in various comedy shorts, has scored a supporting villain role in the upcoming remake of the ’80s show “21 Jump Street” reports Deadline.
Michael Bacall (“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”) penned the R-rated adaptation in which Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum play a pair of undercover cops working in high schools and colleges. The tone has been described as “John Hughes meets ‘Bad Boys'”.
Franco would play Eric, a high school student who also happens to be a psycho drug dealer. Rob Riggle has already been cast as the main villain of the film while Ice Cube will play the captain of the two cops.
Chris Miller and Phil Lord (“Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs”) are directing. The possibility of original series star Johnny Depp making a cameo is apparently still quite likely. Filming kicks off later this month.
