A bunch of film release date changes and announcements have taken place this week, check out the key ones below.
Warner Bros. Pictures has shifted around their Summer 2016 schedule with the Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling-led “The Nice Guys” being moved up a month to a May 20th 2016 release. As a result, the Kevin Hart and The Rock-led comedy “Central Intelligence” has been locked into the old June 17th 2016 slot that ‘Nice Guys’ previously occupied.
Next up, Paramount Pictures has done some shifting of their own. Three weeks ahead of an April 10th wide release, the period drama “The Moon and the Sun” has been pulled from release and no new date has been set. Pierce Brosnan plays Louis XIV in the film which deals with a captured mermaid.
Paramount has also locked in an April 29th 2016 release for “Same Kind of Different As Me” about a relationship formed against the backdrop of mental illness in rural Louisiana, and a September 18th 2015 for the Kate Mara and David Oyelowo thriller “Captive”.
Also on April 29th 2016, 20th Century Fox has slated the sports film “Eddie the Eagle” to open. The movie is currently shooting and stars Taron Egerton as Britain’s inept first Olympic ski jumper and Hugh Jackman as his trainer.
Focus Features have moved up the Ryan Reynolds-led sci-fi thriller “Self/Less” by three weeks to July 10th, and finally 20th Century Fox has set the ensemble comedy “Keeping Up with the Joneses” for an April 1st 2016 release.
