The casting speculation over “The Dark Knight Rises”, which thankfully seemed to have calmed down in recent weeks, has suddenly been whipped up into a frenzy in the past two days.
Eva Green and Naomi Watts are the latest names (via Collider) to have apparently scored the two lead female roles in Chris Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises”.
Meanwhile Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley, Jessica Biel, Kate Mara and Charlotte Riley will all reportedly test for roles within the next two weeks says Heat Vision. Gemma Arterton was also said to be testing for a role, but her commitment to “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters” now likely rules her out.
The same report also indicates there’ll be a new Batmobile, which will be a sleeker version of the Tumbler destroyed in the last film, while the Batcave will get a more modern look with a new computer and suit storage area.
Absolutely none of this is anywhere near confirmed and shooting is still four months off with production slated to begin May 6th and will continue for six months before heading into post production on November 28th.
How nuts is the speculation getting? Photos of Tom Hardy with a shaved head and slight bit of facial scruff (via Worst Previews) apparently is good enough to confirm that he’s set to play Hugo Strange – despite him having to shoot at least one film between now and ‘Rises’ beginning production.
