Dark Knight, Iron Man, Panther Updates

The Dark Knight Rises
As Christopher Nolan’s script for “The Dark Knight Rises” is due in at the studio today according to Variety, actor Christian Bale has spoken with Esquire about why this upcoming film will be his last turn in the cape and cowl:

“All I knew was that there was a whole lot more there that I’d never seen and there was some extreme in the interpretation that should be taken. So I just said, ‘I just gotta hope that they’re gonna go with that, and if they don’t, that’s not the version I’d like to be involved with anyway. And it’s that perverse thing in life, where when you’re able to achieve a certain recklessness, you actually end up getting good results.”

One person has put up his hand to take over the mantle of the Bat once Bale is done is WWE’s John Cena according to The Examiner.

Iron Man 3
Director Jon Favreau tells MTV News that a third “Iron Man” will be set after the events in “The Avengers”, which means even he is unsure where things will be right now.

“Iron Man 3 is going to be a sequel or continuation of Thor, Hulk, Captain America and The Avengers. This whole world… I have no idea what it is. I don’t think they do either, from conversations I’ve had with those guys… Honestly, right now Captain America and Thor are their big priorities” says Favreau.

“Iron Man 3” is already reportedly scouting locations in New York and is targeting a May 3rd 2013 release date.

Black Panther
Having voiced the character in a short-lived animated series, actor Djimon Hounsou is reportedly keen on portraying superhero “Black Panther” (aka. T’Challa) for Marvel Studios reports io9.

Hounsou says he’s eager to take on the role and the animated series was aimed at building interest in a live-action movie – “That was the idea: using it as a leverage to tell a feature story.”
