Following on from the success of their “Daredevil” TV series, Netflix will be releasing their second Marvel Comics inspired TV series “Jessica Jones” later in the year.
We know both Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) will meet up on screen down the line in the eventual “The Defenders” mini-series, but could their first screen union take place quite a bit sooner than that?
Entertainment Tonight recently spoke with Marvel Studios’ TV chief Jeph Loeb and was asked about potential crossovers between the two shows. The answer suggests that while we won’t see Cox and Ritter together, some of the supporting characters may very well appear:
“Without giving anything away, they’re in the same area. In some cases they are in the same neighborhood. One of the things that is important to us is, when you enter the police station, it’s the same police station. When you go to the hospital, you start to see the same people. [But] we don’t want people suddenly going, ‘Wait, is that Matt Murdoch that’s walking down the street?’ Because that’s going to feel odd, and in a weird way feel false.”
There’s still no word on a specific airdate for “Jessica Jones” beyond later this year, whilst “Daredevil” is currently in production on its second season ahead of an April 2016 release.
