Danny Glover will reprise a role he’s made famous twice on stage in “Master Harold… and the Boys” reports Variety.
Athol Fugard’s apartheid-era play follows the rift that years of pent-up emotional anger towards a drunken father takes its toll on the friendship between a 17-year-old student and his two African servants.
Thomas Sangster (“Love Actually,” “Tintin,” TV’s “Doctor Who”) will play the title role. Lonny Price, who played opposite Glover in the original stage production 20 years ago and helmed the recent Broadway revival, will direct the film.
Shooting begins July 10th in Durban, South Africa.
