Danny Boyle will follow-up “127 Hours” and his stage adaptation of “Frankenstein” with the feature thriller “Trance” which Fox Searchlight and Pathe are currently in talks to fund and distribute says Deadline.
The story deals with “an art heist gone wrong” but will employ the “dark, sexy, hard-edged tone” of Boyle’s earlier films like “Shallow Grave” and “Trainspotting”. British writer Joe Ahearne penned the script.
Christian Colson (“Slumdog Millionaire”) will produce and shooting kicks off in London in September. Boyle will finish shooting in January, put the footage away and work on his role directing the opening ceremonies of next summer’s Olympics in London until August, then do post-production on “Trance” with a March 2013 release being targeted.
