Famed C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels has finished his work on “Star Wars: Episode IX” and what is expected (but not confirmed) to be the final appearance of the gold droid character. Daniels has been in every single major installment of the franchise since the beginning.
The J.J. Abrams-directed film has been in production since August, with only a brief break for the holiday, and Daniels announced that he finished his work with the following message:
“Today was 3PO’s last on Episode IX. He’s sad – so am I. But we’re so proud to have worked with such a lovely, talented cast & crew lead by J.J. & Kathy. I’ll miss everyone but I’m glad to know that we’ve been making something exceptional together, to share with the waiting world.”
Daniels appeared in “Solo: A Star Wars Story” as a character named Tak and could well return for future films whatever they may be.
