Showtime CEO David Nevins says that despite his commitment to the twenty-episode TV series “Purity,” actor Daniel Craig’s schedule won’t preclude him from playing James Bond again should he desire to do so. Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour today, Nevins says:
“It depends when they do the next James Bond movie, but I don’t think it precludes him is the answer. This will largely be completed during the course of 2017, depending how long they’re willing to wait and shoot the next Bond. There might be some breaks somewhere, but (production) will be fairly continuous.”
Todd Field and Scott Rudin produce the series based on the novel by Jonathan Franzen with Field (“In the Bedroom,” “Little Children”) to direct all twenty episodes along with co-writing them with Franzen and David Hare. Craig, Field, Franzen, Hare, Scott Rudin and EIi Bush will executive produce.
