Daniel Casey Rewrites “The Craft” Remake

Daniel Casey (“10 Cloverfield Lane”) has come onboard rewrite Leigh Janiak’s remake of the 1996 teen supernatural thriller “The Craft” at Sony Pictures.

Janiak was attached to direct the project two years ago and was set to co-write the new adaptation with Phil Graziadei. With Casey onboard, it at least indicates the project is still moving forward.

Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher will produce. Andrew Fleming’s original film starred Robin Tunney as a teenage girl who befriends a group of budding witches (Neve Campbell, Fairuza Balk and Rachel True).

Casey is currently working on Fede Alvarez’s “Incognito” and is adapting Larry Niven’s “Inconstant Moon” into a directing vehicle for James Ponsoldt.
