Like “Buffy” or “Smallville,” The CW’s “Arrow” has been a show where each season has been dominated by a ‘Big Bad,’ a single master villain whose machinations drive much of the events of each season.
In the first it was Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), the second was Deathstroke (Manu Bennett), and the current third season has been using Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) albeit sparingly. Now it appears the villain of the fourth has been revealed.
TV Line reports that the season three finale will introduce a “major, formidable, fierce new foe” who will unleash a reign of terror that will carry on well into the next season.
Said character is being dubbed ‘Damian Dark’ internally, but the speculation is that the character will be this universe’s interpretation of Damian Wayne – the grandson of Ra’s al Ghul. Said character will likely NOT include the connection of him being Batman’s son (and the sixth version of Robin), but it does raise the interesting question of whether his mother Talia al Ghul might also be coming to the world of “Arrow”.
The series is currently on a break but will return with its last run of third season episodes from March 18th.
