Appearing at the Venice Film Festival this past week for both “Black Mass” and “A Bigger Splash,” actress Dakota Johnson has spoken about the upcoming “Fifty Shades Darker” and the recent hiring of director James Foley.
Speaking with Empire about returning to the role of Anastasia Steele in the “Fifty Shades Of Grey” sequel, she says she’s ready to head back into that world:
“It’s quite exciting. There was a moment of being afraid, because I didn’t know what it was going to be like. I had an experience with Sam [Taylor-Johnson] and then that all went away. Now I’m excited. I think James is a talented filmmaker. How often do you get to reconvene with the same people and have a different spin?”
She confirms she’s met Foley and discussed the film with him, but wouldn’t confirm if his approach will be different saying: “I have. You’ll just have to see when the movie comes out.” The film is now targeting a February 10th 2017 release.
