Dakota Fanning has signed on to play British royal Princess Margaret in the romantic fairytale “Girls’ Night Out” for Ecosse Films reports Variety.
Based on a true story, the story follows a teenage Margaret on V.E. Day in 1945 when she and her sister Elizabeth are allowed out from Buckingham Palace for one night to join in the celebrations. Said night “encompasses thrills, romance and danger”.
Casting for Elizabeth is still underway and will be announced shortly. Michael Hoffman (“the Last Station”) directs from a script by Trevor De Silva. Shooting wool kick off at the end of the year after Hoffman films the “Gambit” remake with Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz.
