A while back it was confirmed that actor Willem Dafoe is set to play a major supporting role in James Wan’s upcoming “Aquaman” solo film which will head into production shortly. It turns out though that we’ll get a glimpse of him before that with confirmation today that he’ll also pop up in Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” film.
Dafoe plays Vulko, a trusted advisor to Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and an Atlantean politician. Dafoe is one of three actors from the solo film who are confirmed to be appearing ‘League’ – joining Momoa as the hero himself and Amber Heard as Queen Mera. Speaking with The Guardian about his role, he says:
“Well, Justice League is very particular because it’s an ensemble movie and my character is being introduced here in order to be a principal role in Aquaman. These films are a different experience. They have different responsibilities, different resources and different intentions. It’s nice to go between those worlds if you can. They serve different impulses.”
“Justice League” will be released November 17th next year, while “Aquaman” follows just over eight months later on July 26th 2018.
